Board (your two spins give a row and a column)
Card gallery (14 card types)
Rule assumptions I made (not in the deck)
- Cards come only from landing on a location (Cliffs +2, Countryside +1), after the coins resolve; the Holy Temple makes you sacrifice a card of your choice. Hand max 5: draws stop when full. Unclean Hands triggers on any draw (reshuffled during the setup deal). An optional toggle adds a draw every turn.
- Squares come from the spin: your two spins give a row (location) and a column; with Swap on you pick either order, with it off the first spin is the row. Variants (setup toggles): swap the two results; Retreat is a special card (4 in the deck, no coin cost): play it at the start of your turn, then after spinning you may move one square up/down/left/right before coins resolve. Swap and Retreat don't apply when Miracle of Light or Wrath of God fixes your row (Retreat returns to your hand).
- Playtest defaults: start with 10 coins, 40 coins to win, 4 Miracle of Light cards worth +2 bonus coins and no Temple sacrifice, battle stakes x2/x3/x4 by location (Night Raid = the top level, x4).
- Battles are mandatory. In a 3+ player location you choose one opponent, unless someone is on your exact square (then that player first, then all others in the location).
- Battle dreidel is a single spin (Gimel 3, Hay 2, Nun 1, Shin 0). Elephant/Maccabee bonuses and Mercenary +1 add to it.
- Slings and Arrows cancels the opponent's Elephant/Maccabee bonus and their modifier cards (Night Raid, Reinforcements, Mercenary). It cannot stop Escape.
- Reinforcements always adds both spins. Mercenary needs 2+ coins. Coin transfers are capped at what the loser holds.
- Sneak Attack stakes use the defender's location. Wrath of God is played by an opponent before the current player spins.
- The winner of an eliminating battle takes random cards from the loser until holding 5. The Robber (slide 18) is not implemented yet.
